Fourth Michelin Masterclass held in Zagreb

In cooperation between the MICHELIN Guide, one of the world’s best-known and most influential gastronomic guides, and the Zagreb Tourist Board, the fourth consecutive Michelin Masterclass for Zagreb chefs was held in Zagreb.

This year’s workshop was led by Davide Guidara, chef of I Tenerumi at Therasia Resort on the Sicilian island of Vulcano. The restaurant holds two Michelin Stars and is renowned for its contemporary approach to plant-based cuisine.

During the workshop, Chef Guidara shared his professional experience, approach to ingredients and culinary philosophy with Zagreb chefs, placing vegetables and plant-based ingredients at the heart of his cuisine. This year’s Masterclass was hosted by Chef Vid Nikolić and the team at Kiyomi, one of the new Zagreb restaurants included in this year’s MICHELIN Guide selection.

On this occasion, Martina Bienenfeld, PhD, CEO of the Zagreb Tourist Board, said:

“Gastronomy has become an essential part of the travel experience and an increasingly important factor when choosing a destination. This is also confirmed by data from the Food Travel Monitor 2026, according to which travellers rate the importance of food and drink when choosing a destination at a high 8.2 out of 10, while 66% say that gastronomy is a more important part of their travels today than it was five years ago.

We are therefore particularly pleased to be holding the Michelin Masterclass in Zagreb for the fourth consecutive year and to see it become a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience and establishing new professional connections. We are proud of our chefs, whose expertise, creativity and continuous professional development contribute to the quality and recognition of Zagreb’s gastronomic scene. Through our cooperation with Michelin, we aim to provide them with access to new knowledge, international experience and professional contacts that can further contribute to its development.”

The cooperation between the Zagreb Tourist Board and Michelin on the Masterclass project began in 2023, when Zagreb was selected to host the first Michelin Masterclass outside France. Since then, the project has been held annually, bringing together Zagreb chefs and renowned names from the international gastronomic scene and creating opportunities for the exchange of experience, professional development and new professional connections.

This year’s workshop brought together chefs and sous-chefs from 10 Zagreb restaurants: Beštija, Dubravkin put, Izakaya, Kiyomi, ManO2, Noel, Pod Zidom Bistro, SOL, Tač and Zinfandel's.
