FIGURA BISTRO
Carefully balanced and seriously delicious
Just a few days after Figura Bistro opened in Srednjaci, word around the city was already that it’s a place worth checking out. The location is tucked away just enough from the crowds, yet still close to everything – and the best part is the parking. Real, actual parking, which in Zagreb is an absolute bonus for any spot.

The interior is modern but unpretentious: clean lines, terrazzo floors, plenty of natural light and wood that brings warmth to the space. Figura has that comfortable atmosphere where you can come solo or with company, and even get some work done on your laptop. In the summer, the terrace could easily become one of the neighborhood’s best hangouts. Spacious and simple, it’s perfect for coffee, brunch or a light lunch.
What’s on the menu?
The concept itself is what makes it interesting. From day one, Figura has been completely transparent: everything is clear, everything is labeled. Calories, protein, carbs, fats – it’s all listed on the menu, not just for the “fit” dishes, but for everything they serve. That immediately signals they’re catering to guests who enjoy good food but also want to know exactly what they’re eating. Srednjaci gets that – the neighborhood is full of people who work out, work from home, walk their dogs, live active lives and appreciate food that makes sense nutritionally.

The menu is broad but thoughtfully structured. Even the dish names hint at the macros they’re targeting. The all-day breakfast concept features granola bowls, protein oatmeal and eggs in carefully curated combinations. The wraps and sandwiches are substantial, packed with protein and flavorful sauces. The bowls and plates range from tuna and chicken to steak, served with rice, vegetables and teriyaki notes. Protein pasta with chicken or shrimp is still relatively rare in a bistro setting, which makes it one of Figura’s standout strengths. And of course, there are desserts for those days when you want something sweet but still want to keep track of what you’re putting into your body. Drinks are neatly organized as well – coffee, juices, protein shakes, energy drinks, beer, wine and quality spirits – everything you might want throughout the day.

The best part? Everything is available from 9 AM to 5 PM, and the full menu is served all day. There’s no “that starts at noon” or “breakfast is over,” because the owner of Figura Bistro runs the place according to her own vision, not by conventional rules.
What did our chefs try?
And now – the bao buns. Small, soft, beautifully assembled, as if they came straight out of a modern global kitchen, yet with a local touch. The dough is pillowy, the chicken juicy, the vegetables bring freshness, and the sesame ties all the flavors together so that nothing overpowers and nothing is missing. It’s definitely the kind of dish that makes you go back for another bite – and one that will keep people coming back to Figura regularly.

In short, Figura is a bistro that arrived in Srednjaci quietly, but with a clear idea. Modern, but not cold. Healthy, but not boring. Urban, but not pretentious. Most importantly, it has soul. The kind of neighborhood soul you can’t buy or design, the kind that’s built with the people who walk through the door. It seems that Figura is already well on its way.
